How to prove RoHS compliance
How to prove RoHS compliance is the question most frequently asked, once key issues such as lead-free solders and RoHS-compliant electronic components and materials have been sorted.
The mark guarantees that the instruments are sufficiently sensitive for their intended use, durable, reliable and able to produce repeatable and reproducible data.
MID applies to all manufacturers that produce: water meters; gas meters and volume conversion devices; active electrical energy meters; measuring systems for the continuous and dynamic measurement of quantities of liquids other than water; automatic weighing instruments; taximeters; material measures; dimensional measuring instruments; and exhaust gas analysers.
All such instruments must undergo conformity assessment procedures that are controlled and delivered by notified bodies.
There are different conformity routes that are specific to different instrument types or subcategories.
