The CM41 range of miniature ultra-high-current ferrite common mode chokes are rated for up to 55A of continuous operating current.

The CM41 range of patented, miniature ultra-high-current ferrite common mode chokes are rated for up to 55A of continuous operating current.

Suitable for high- or low-frequency applications, the new CM41 chokes are ideal for AC and DC power supplies where their small footprint and low clearance height can contribute to significant space savings.

Devices in Steward's CM41 range are available in broadband and low-frequency materials and are lighter, smaller, and less susceptible to the effects of vibration than more traditional wirewound devices.

As a result, they can provide a compact and effective solution for EMI suppression in a variety of designs including power supplies, telecommunications, automotive and appliance applications.

The new CM41 chokes have footprints measuring just 13.7 x 10.4mm and profiles ranging from 10.5 to 15.2mm.

The higher frequency devices have typical impedances from 100 to 160ohm at 100MHz and from 143 to 180ohm at 1GHz.

Low-frequency devices offer a typical impedance (at 4MHz) of 99ohm.

Maximum DC resistance in all cases is 0.3,mohm, and all the devices are designed to be UL1950-compliant for creepage up to 250V.
