The theme of the 2006 Seoul Digital Forum - "Being intelligent: the next digital revolution - smart devices, robotics and the future" - echoes the basic tenets of the Strategy Analytics Emerging Frontiers programme: that digital devices must become smarter and services delivered to users must become increasingly personalised.
"The continued appeal of future digital devices rests on each device's ability to understand and interact with users in increasingly natural ways using self-adaptive multimodal interfaces that can recognise and respond to touch, speech, gaze, gesture and emotion", said Buck.
"This requires built in perceptual, pattern recognition and reasoning capabilities so that these devices become increasingly self-aware and context-aware".
