The Spectrax database incorporates 1200 handset models which have been added since the September 2006 publication, including older, difficult to obtain models.
The next monthly instalment will include specifications for the newest models on the market, from January and February 2007.
The Spectrax database will be updated monthly.
"Over 800 new cellular handsets were launched worldwide in 2006, equivalent to over three per working day; an astounding figure which actually fell from 950 in 2005 and 980 in 2004", states Stuart Robinson, Director of the Strategy Analytics Handset Component Technologies service.
"The complexity of modern handsets appears to be having an effect on the rate at which new models can be introduced".
