Barthelmes replaces Foster at Shipley

Barthelmes replaces Michael Foster, who is retiring after a career of 34 years with Rohm and Haas, where he worked in engineering, finance, marketing and corporate development, including a successful assignment in Mexico.
The company has also announced that Carol Eicher will become Vice President and General Manager, Americas PWB, a newly created position reporting to Barthelmes.

Foster is well known throughout the PWB industry, having been a part of Shipley since 1983.
He was a key member of the Rohm and Haas team involved in the initial investment in Shipley and during his 18 years with Shipley, he made significant contributions to the growth of the company and the development of the PWB industry.
His leadership in the industry includes service as past Chairman of the IPC Suppliers Management Council Steering Committee as well as other similar roles within industry associations.
He engineered the 1999 acquisition of Lea Ronal, a move that positioned Shipley as the leader in the PWB industry.
Barthelmes was appointed President, Shipley Europe in September 1999.
He came to Shipley from SKW Group where he was a division Senior Vice President.
Prior to SKW Group, he worked for Sanofi Group and Air Liquide Group.
He has academic credentials in chemical engineering and environmental engineering from INSA in Toulouse, France.
An electronics industry veteran, Eicher most recently led the Global Organic Specialties Business of Shipley's parent company, Rohm and Haas.
As General Manager, Americas PWB, Eicher will be responsible for all aspects of Shipley 's PWB business in North America as well as for PWB marketing functions worldwide.
Eicher joined Rohm and Haas in May 2000, and her experience includes 12 years in the electronics industry with DuPont.
