Recognising the vital role of ergonomics, a Schmersal spokesman says that in the operating theatre precise actuation of a foot switch is as important as exact hand movements, which is why the non-skid pedal of the MGF-MED was designed for safe actuation even under the most arduous conditions.
Hygiene is assured by eliminating angles and dead zones where dirt and bacteria can settle.
The combination of high-quality, aluminium die-cast surface and a pedal that can be removed so that all surfaces are accessible, also ensures easy, residue-free cleaning.
The MGF-MED footswitch is available with different contacts including 1NC/1NO, 2NC/2NO and potentiometeric and analogue output signals via Hall sensors.
Protection to IP X8 is also available and the new foot switches meet all relevant standards and directives for medical equipment including IEC60601, IEC60529, Class AP and the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EE.
