Schurter is one of Europe's leading and most experienced membrane switch manufacturers, and will be offering HeatSeal solutions for those harsh environment applications where traditional membrane switches constructed with pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA) are limited or not suitable.
In order to offer this technology with local manufacturing expertise and support Bergquist has teamed up with Schurter, which will be manufacturing complete membrane switch-products using HeatSeal components.
Bob Hartline, VP and Business Unit Manager of the Switch Division of The Bergquist Company comments: "We always knew that there was a requirement for our technology in Europe, but we had to work with someone who knows the specifics of the market.
At Bergquist we are extremely pleased to be working with Schurter.
It was important for us to find a partner who has similar engineering capabilities, a commitment to quality and a technical competence to determine when and where HeatSeal technology is a true benefit and cost saving factor".
Bruno Ochs, Managing Director of Schurter in Germany acknowledges: "Every European membrane switch manufacturer knows about the drawbacks of adhesive joints, but up until recently there has been no other solution available in Europe.
So everyone just had to live with the drawbacks.
Therefore, when we first saw HeatSeal we jumped to the opportunity of being able to offer these unique, fully sealed and extremely reliable membrane switches to our customers". Request free introductory details about products from Schurter Input Systems ...
