Continuous updating of the electrical calibration laboratory at Sira Test and Certification has allowed the company to extend its calibration service offerings with a new low current facility.

This industry-recognised specialist in calibration, testing and certification is able to provide customers with a full electrical calibration service either from its well equipped, fully independent UKAS-accredited laboratory or through its on-site service.

Services cover all kinds of electrical measurement and generation equipment: from standard resistors and multimeters; voltmeters and voltage sources; low current meters and current sources; to complex multifunctional devices, including recorders, oscilloscopes and tachometers etc.

Customers with more specialist requirements also have the opportunity to contact the state-of- the-art lab facility to discuss individual specifications.

Capabilities include: DC voltage up to 1.2 kV; AC voltage from 1mV to 200V (10Hz-1MHz) and 200V to 1kV (30Hz-1MHz); resistance up to 1Tohm (able to calibrate up to 5kV DC); DC current from 1pA up to 20A (clamp-on ammeters up to 2000A); AC current from 10mA to 20A (10Hz-5kHz); frequency from 0.1 to 120MHz; and time Interval up to 10,000s.

The UKAS accreditation means that Sira laboratory procedures are regularly audited to ensure the validity and accuracy of all measurements.

All Sira issued certificates meet ISO10012.

Sira also offers repair services and a broad range of training courses in calibration.
