Tecom picks SiGe power amplifier for Bluetooth

Tecom has selected the SiGe Semiconductor PA2423MB power amplifier for its cordless phone and Class 1 Bluetooth wireless products.

Tecom has selected the SiGe Semiconductor PA2423MB power amplifier for its cordless phone and Class 1 Bluetooth wireless products.

Specifically designed for the Bluetooth market, the PA2423MB is now finding homes in a range of 2.4GHz applications that benefit from the IC's ability to support high signal integrity over an extended transmission range of 100m.

Tecom has integrated the PA2423MB into the BT3010 Bluetooth module, BT3020 Bluetooth access point, and the BT3030 Bluetooth USB dongle, which are fully certified to the Bluetooth 1.1 specification, and support easy implementation of Class 1 operation in PCs, laptops, and portable consumer devices.

Tecom has also used the PA2423MB in a 2.4GHz WDCT-compliant cordless phone that is currently undergoing field trials by a major supplier to the US market.

Tecom's 2.4GHZ cordless phone and Bluetooth products were designed to be compact in size, low in cost and easy to implement.

The PA2423MB contributes to these features through the use of an advanced silicon germanium process and innovative package technologies that enable a highly integrated, very small form factor device.

The PA2423MB also provides high performance as the most efficient power amplifier on the market.

Able to deliver +22.5dBm output power with 45% power-added efficiency, the PA2423MB overcomes antenna and filter losses to ensure high data integrity over an extended transmission range.
