"I am very pleased with how our team has worked with leaders like Bluewinc to integrate our PAs into today's Bluetooth products", said Bill Cuming, vice president optical, cable and components, SiGe Semiconductor.
"Bluewinc's designs are the latest to exhibit the benefits of our silicon germanium and RF technology.
By boosting the stability and strength of wireless signals, we are helping to enable the next-generation of mobile Internet access".
RangeCharger power amplifier boosts performance, offers efficient design Bluewinc's Class 1 products combine the PA2423MB power amplifier with radio and baseband chips from CSR, enabling stable and high performance wireless Internet access, data synchronisation and file sharing across a range of applications.
The USB adapter and BW-BTM01 are ideal for notebook and desktop computers, peripherals, PDAs, digital cameras, scanners, MP3 players, and mobile phones.
The PA2423 contributes to the performance of Bluewinc's Class 1 Bluetooth products by enabling +22.5dBm output power and 45% power-added efficiency.
This industry-leading performance allows the devices to overcome antenna and filter losses and ensure high signal strength over the specified transmission range.
Using the PA2423MB, Bluewinc's module and USB adapter are capable of 1Mbit/s transmission rates over 100m, without line-of-site configurations.
The device is based on a highly efficient silicon germanium structure that also lowers power consumption to enable longer battery-powered operation.
"SiGe's power amplifier was a logical choice, since it demonstrates strong output power and stable performance", said Chang Do Lee, Technical Director, Bluewinc.
"The team at SiGe also provided exceptional design support, enabling fast and seamless implementation of their power amplifier with our choice in receiver/baseband components.
As a result, we were able to quickly design and qualify our Bluetooth products, and deliver them to the market".
