SiGe Semiconductor completed 2006 with strong sales momentum and achieved significant milestones.

SiGe Semiconductor completed 2006 with strong sales momentum and achieved significant milestones.

Revenues increased more than 50% in 2006 from US $31.8 in 2005 to over $48 million in 2006.

SiGe continued to grow in the WLAN, GPS and GSM markets, and the company's WiMAX transceivers were integrated into several of the first standard-compliant products to hit the market.

"I am extremely pleased with the progress SiGe made in 2006 as we continue to enable the world's most innovative and demanding wireless consumer products", said William Burke, SiGe's CFO.

"Mobility is now a 'must-have' for every aspect of communications".

"Consumers routinely work remotely, navigate streets with handheld devices, play the latest online games from any room in the house and use IP cellular phones for talking, taking photos, downloading information and reading e-mails".

"These are just a few of the wireless applications that would not be possible without high performance radio front ends".

"SiGe is focused on developing and delivering RF power amplifiers and transceivers for GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and now WiMax applications", Burke continued.

"We understand our customers' demands for high performance must be matched with small size, enhanced battery life and low cost".

"We continue to drive industry firsts, such as the first Galileo-ready receiver and the thinnest Wi-Fi power amplifier".

"These and other innovations have fuelled the selection of our devices for new customer designs in exciting consumer products such as the Nintendo Wii videogame console".

"Our focus for 2007 continues to be revenue and market share growth, further integration of our solutions, innovations that enable our customers' applications and continued development of our GPS and WiMax portfolios", said Burke.

"Our well-recognised RF expertise, the enormous growth in wireless devices and our global partnerships bode well for us to have another great year in 2007".

"SiGe Semiconductor increased its market share for WLAN PA front-end solutions", commented Burke.

"This success is due in large part to SiGe's continued relationship with Broadcom, which has integrated SiGe's PA front-ends into reference designs for 802.11b/g and draft 802.11n solutions".
