1U chassis has detachable motherboard carrier

A new 1U (44mm high) chassis for 19" rack mounting, the SR-105-ATX-180 from Sight Systems, is designed for space-critical applications such as servers, networks, telephony and E-commerce.

The chassis accepts a standard ATX motherboard or the Micro or Flex ATX motherboards.

A detachable motherboard carrier simplifies installation of the board and there is a slot for a PCI raiser card.

The chassis features EMI clips to reduce radiation.

Shock-resistant, swappable drive housings accommodate two 3.5" drives.

There is also a 5.25" drive housing which will accept either a CD-ROM, DVD, or backup device, or Sight Systems' space-saving multiple drive housing, the NBM-300 which uses notebook technology to provide CD-ROM, FDD and HDD in a single 5.25" drive slot.

There is room in the chassis to install two SCA hard disk drives.

A universal, auto-switching, 180W ATX type power unit is supplied in the chassis and a 9cm, high-speed ball bearing blower-type fan ensures good ventilation for the whole system.

On the front panel there is an on/off switch, touch-free reset facility and three HDD activity indicators.

The chassis is available in any colour to order, but black or beige is standard.

The SR-105-ATX-180 is the latest model in the Sight Systems family of 1U chassis for space-restricted applications such as ISP and network servers, telecommunications, switching and relay functions, monitoring, data gathering and versatile desktop applications.

The ultra-slim profile of 1U makes it possible to fit up to 42 systems into one standard rack.
