Industrial PC chassis suits the quiet life
Sight Systems has recently added an ultra-quiet version to its large range of 1U industrial computer chassis.
The small fans in today's compact industrial PCs are often the dominant noise source and energy from the spinning blades can cause vibrations in chassis components further amplifying noise.
In many situations this is of no consequence but in some areas, broadcasting and multi-media for example, excessive noise is just not acceptable.
To meet a demand for quieter PCs Sight Systems has recently added an ultra quiet version to its large range of 1U industrial computer chassis.
Designated the SR-105-EMB-150 it is a 1U (44mm) high industrial PC enclosure for 19in rack mounting.
It comes complete with a single board computer with space for two full size PCI cards of the customer's choice.
A fan-cooled 150W ATX type power supply is fitted and there are three other ultra quiet 40mm fans to ensure adequate cooling without a noise penalty.
An LCD module with time clock and an alarm to monitor system temperature and fan failure is featured on the front panel together with on/off reset facilities, HDD activity and power on.
The chassis provides one 3.5in drive bay to accommodate the media device of the customer's choice.
The chassis can be supplied in any colour to match existing equipment but is normally available from stock in either black or beige.
