Silicon Perspective has achieved record revenue and bookings during the third quarter of 2001.

Silicon Perspective has achieved record revenue and bookings during the third quarter of 2001 In its best quarter ever, SPC saw significant repeat orders as well as several new customers, including Ample Communications, ECC (Efficient Channel Coding), NeoMagic, Tality, Toshiba and Tvia

SPC noted significant momentum for its First Encounter software for full-chip hierarchical design, including for advanced features such as hierarchical clock tree synthesis and power grid design tools.

SPC's First Encounter lets designers quickly create a full-chip silicon virtual prototype, which establishes the physical feasibility of the design early in the design process and becomes the basis for partitioning large chips into manageable blocks.

First Encounter also provides early accurate estimates of timing, die area and power consumption.

First Encounter's appeal is spread among designers using ASIC and COT design production approaches.

Also, the solution is well integrated with successful tape outs in all major IC implementation flows, together with tools from Avant!, Cadence Design Systems, Magma Design Automation, Plato Design and Synopsys.

"The market success of our hierarchical solution depends on our ability to add value in pretty much all IC implementation flows", stated Ping Chao, Silicon Perspective's CEO.

"We will continue our wide market penetration by supporting all popular methodologies".
