1kV rad-hard power MOSFET saves satellite space
International Rectifier has introduced the world's first 1000V radiation-hardened power MOSFET.
Today's high-performance embedded processor products require supply voltages of 1.8V and lower, with currents in excess of 3A, and the new IRU3037 can be used with IR's small outline HEXFET power mosfets - such as the IRF7313, IRF7311 or IRF7752 - to create a complete synchronous buck convertor for such applications.
The IRU3037 includes a soft start feature that allows smooth start-up from idle to decrease transients caused by inrush current and overshoot.
The new control IC enables single-supply operation from 5 or 12V inputs, with an input range of 4 to 25V.
It is fully protected with output undervoltage detection that latches off the device when an output short is detected.
The IRU3037CF is housed in the low-profile TSSOP-8 package, and the IRU3037CS is housed in the SO-8 package.
