Power stage and controller come together

An International Rectifier product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Dec 26, 2007

The iP1206 is designed for two-phase single output applications up to 30A or dual independent outputs up to 15A.

New from International Rectifier, the iP1206 is a fully optimised solution for synchronous buck applications including telecomms and networking equipment.

The iP1206 is the latest addition to the iPOWIR integrated power conversion stage product line, designed for two-phase single output applications up to 30A or dual independent outputs up to 15A.

Both options use synchronised 180 degree out-of-phase operation, reducing input current ripple and input voltage ripple.

The device combines an optimised power stage and a full function PWM control IC to achieve high power density.

As with all iPOWIR products, the iP1206 is simple to design and easy to replicate across a wide range of voltage and current rails because all of the critical components are integrated and only a few external passive components are required for a complete POL solution.

Features include a switching frequency up to 600kHz per channel, lossless current limit, overvoltage and overtemperature protection, prebias startup, external synchronisation, output voltage tracking and sequencing.
