"The Vantage program takes the power and flexibility of the VDL-1000 and provides it with a friendly, easy to understand user interface for configuration and data conversion", said Robert Newberry, CEO of Si-Gate.

The VDL-1000, already being the industry standard for comprehensive vehicle data gathering, coupled with the new Vantage software gives engineers an added efficiency to accomplish their work.

The VDL-1000 with its built-in real-time clock has multiple inputs including two high speed CAN inputs with J1939 support, one low speed CAN interface, up to 16 analogue inputs, and four digital inputs with two output drivers.

This combined with onboard options such as a GPS module, three axis accelerometer (2 or 6g), temperature sensor, and barometric pressure sensor is able to cover just about every testing scenario found in today's real world environment.

With virtually no boot-up time from sleep mode, it can quickly respond and record the data to the internal compact flash card or interface with the onboard USB or serial RS232 ports.

The Si-Gate VDL-1000 is designed to be a complete data logging system, capturing important vehicle information together with critical sensor data.

Now with the new Vantage configuration and data conversion tool it is possible within a graphical user interface (GUI) to create configuration files that control all of the VDL-1000's settings including CAN timing and filters, wake-up and sleep triggers and timing, and also a text box for configuration comments.

The user can also archive and organise custom configuration files to be recalled for use at a later time.

Vantage also includes a conversion tool in which a log file from the VDL-1000 can be converted to either a text or a CSV file that can be read into MS Excel or other data analysis programs.

Custom deliminators can be chosen if a program requires a particular format.

Vantage is compatible with the Windows operating system.
