Chipset boosts bandwidth for AMD designs

It is also the first of its kind in the market to support advanced functions such as high-performance DDR400, AGP8X interface, SiS MuTIOL 1G and advanced HyperStreaming technology.

The SiS748 dramatically increases data transfer bandwidth and fully exploits the performance from synchronisation of the system and memory clocks.

The SiS748 not only provides a better AMD platform for users, but also brings power to deliver higher levels of PC performance by taking advantage of FSB 400MHz technology with AMD processor.

The SiS748 is paired with the South Bridge SiS963L, which features MuTIOL 1G technology, USB 2.0/1.1, Dual ATA133/100/66 IDE Channels, 5.1 Channel AC97 Audio, 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet and Home PNA2.0.

The MuTIOL 1G is an SiS proprietary technology with 1Gbyte/s transfer speed and bidirectional 16bit databus at 533MHz operating speed, allowing a seamless bridge between the North Bridge and South Bridge.

Using SiS's MuTIOL 1G technology, the SiS748 and SiS963L combination provides the widest data bandwidth yet to achieve high-transfer-rate requirement.
