Photo interrupter breaks compactness
records
The GP1S296HCPSF is ideal for any applications where a slim product design requires a low mounting height and limited mounting space at the same time.
With the launch of the GP1S296HCPSF, Sharp Microelectronics is presenting the smallest photo interrupter currently available on the market As it only measures 2.5 x 1.8 x 1.9 mm, the housing volume for the sub-miniature photo interrupter is half that of the technically comparable precursor model

Sharp's next-generation high-performance 32bit smart card incorporates 1Mbyte of Flash memory.
Sharp has achieved this level of miniaturisation by further developing the company's generic Double Transfer mould process for manufacturing the components.
This also includes reducing the registrable pitch from 0.3 to 0.2 mm.
This means that the GP1S296HCPSF is ideal for any applications where a slim product design requires a low mounting height and limited mounting space at the same time.
The new photo interrupter is particularly suitable for portable applications, such as a sensor for controlling auto focus and zoom drives in digital pocket cameras.
As it can be operated in a broad temperature range from -25 to +85C, the GP1S296HCPSF is also suitable for switching applications in demanding industrial environments and for industry handhelds and CE portables.
