PCB manufacturer Speedboard is trialling the latest fast-turn PCB prototyping technology in a collaborative venture with Kwikboard Technologies.
Next the double-sided board was screen printed using a Kapton stencil produced in just 30min on the Kwikboard machine, then assembled in Speedboard's fast turn surface mount assembly shop and delivered to the customer within 24 hours.
The compact Kwikboard machine integrates sophisticated micro etching, curing and drilling phases.
The dry process uses cured conductive polymers for interconnect and eliminates photo tool time and costs.
As part of its Kwikboard evaluation initiative, Speedboard is offering all its customers the opportunity to trial the innovative system free of charge on the first job.
"The evaluation is proceeding well and has attracted healthy interest from existing and new customers", reports Speedboard MD Richard Watson.
"Who could turn down the opportunity to have Speedboard make a prototype board in less than 24 hours for free?", Watson asks, pointing out that: "It's just one more example of Speedboard looking to provide improved customer choice".
