Convertors boast maximum current and power
The ESM series of DC/DC convertors is billed as delivering the highest current and power available today in an industry standard 2 x 1in sized package.
New from Small Technology Research Group is the ESM series of DC/DC convertors, delivering the highest current and power available today in an industry standard 2 x 1in sized package.
The ESM series enables communications and networking OEMs to minimise board space, reduce production costs and support the ongoing migration toward lower supply voltages for ICs and microprocessors.
The ESM convertors operate over two wide input voltage ranges of 18-36 and 36-75V DC to provide precisely regulated outputs of 1.8, 2.5, 3.3, 5, 12 and +/-12V.
The ESM takes advantage of synchronous rectification technology to deliver high efficiency at low-voltage/high-current applications.
An innovative single-side-components design means that the ESM is ideal for SMT processes.
ESM modules are available in a broad range of output voltages: 5.0V at 7A, 3.3V at 10A, 2.5V at 10A, 1.8V at 12A, 12V at 2.5A and +/-12V at 1.25A.
Surface mount packages enable OEMs to take advantage of the latest automated production techniques.
An innovative no-pin structure design makes it a best choice for Pb-free reflow process.
In addition, the ESM module's footprint is compatible with the Tyco's HW series and Ericsson's PKF modules; this means that designers can have multiple sources to meet ISO requirements.
ESM modules are capable of operating in temperatures ranging from -40 to +85C with forced air and incorporate a range of safety features to protect against abnormal inputs, outputs and temperatures.
Performance is further enhanced by monotonic startup and operation into prebiased loads.
