Cable management system boosts capacity
Siemon has released a 12in-wide expanded-capacity version of its popular Vertical Patching Channel (VPC) rack-mounted cable management system.
Siemon has released a 12in-wide expanded-capacity version of its popular Vertical Patching Channel (VPC) rack-mounted cable management system.
The VPC-12 is a stand-alone manager, designed for being mounted or side-stacked between adjacent racks.
Each unit has a capacity of approximately 1400 category 5e or category 6 UTP cords in the front-access channel and an additional 1800 in the rear-access channel.
Category 6A F/UTP capacities total approximately 710 cords front and 930 rear.
The unit supports 360 category 6A UTP cords in the front channel and 470 in the rear.
Like the 6in version Siemon's VPC-12 features a front facing full-length hinged door to conceal patch cord routing.
This door opens in either direction, and is easily removable for full access to cable bundles.
It features an open rear manager with rear channel retainers, designed for easy routing of large horizontal/backbone cabling bundles.
The rear channel retainers can be hinged in either direction and can be relocated to any position along the rear vertical channel.
Cable access holes along the vertical length of the unit allow cables to route easily between the front and rear of the channel.
All cable routing points on the vertical channels are rounded to allow patch cords to seamlessly enter and exit the manager without the risk of bandwidth limiting cable deformation.
The VPC-12's side mounting holes provide compatibility with common 76 and 152mm industry racking systems, including Siemon's RS-07 and XLBET frames.
Optional quarter-turn cable managers can be mounted within vertical channels for additional management needs, such as segregation of application specific cords.
The VPC-12 is designed for use with Siemon's new RS Series horizontal cable managers, which feature a fully hinged cover that extends across the vertical channel to protect and conceal patch cords from the panel into the VPC.
