Flash drives to greater size and
performance
Following its strategic partnership with Hitachi, Simpletech has been able to make substantial increases to both the capacity and performance of its Flash memory.
Following its strategic partnership with Hitachi, Simpletech has been able to make substantial increases to both the capacity and performance of its Flash memory The most significant increases include: IDE FlashDrives and SCSI-2 FlashDrives are now available up to 8Gbyte; ATA Flash Cards (PC Cards) have been increased to 4Gbyte; and a 1Gbyte CompactFlash device is now available (Type II)
Also new is a range of Ultra DMA high performance FlashDrives with read speeds of 12Mbyte/s, write speeds of 5Mbyte/s and a data transfer rate of 66.7Mbyte/s.
Other improvements include: an EOL command (allowing the user to monitor the number of spare sectors available, giving an indication of the remaining useable life of the product); password protection; and a simultaneous multichip erase function.
