A new 4Gbyte DDR memory module incorporates patented IC Tower stacking technology to deliver the highest capacity currently available in a single-unit module.

Simpletech has released a 4Gbyte DDR memory module, which incorporates the company's patented IC Tower stacking technology to deliver the highest capacity currently available in a single-unit module.

The four-bank DIMM is offered in a standard 184-pin configuration, providing the ideal solution for high-end servers supporting memory-intensive applications.

"High-end servers require more and more memory to run today's applications.

The ability to double the module capacity utilising today's components in a cost-effective manner is the most critical design issue currently facing both chip makers and equipment manufacturers.

SimpleTech is the first company that can deliver a 4Gbyte module built with existing 512Mbit components.

By utilising our patented IC Tower stacking technology, we are able to stack 512Mbit devices to build a 1Gbit component currently not available from device suppliers.

Our 4Gbyte solution doubles the capacity of the module from 2Gbyte capacity currently available from other suppliers", said Kavous Vakilian, DRAM Product Manager for Simpletech.

"The 4Gbyte module is the most cost-effective, high-capacity solution for business, industrial and consumer applications which increasingly require more and more memory.

This product demonstrates Simpletech's continued leadership in delivering the most innovative solutions available in DRAM component technology".

Engineering samples of the module, part number S4096M3RGA1, are available now.

Distribution is scheduled to begin early in the second quarter.

Pricing is expected to start at $3200 in standard quantities.
