The C8051F350 is precision mixed-signal microcontroller that integrates an eight-channel, 24bit ADC with a high-speed 8051-compatible CPU.

Available in a small 5 x 5mm package, the highly-integrated C8051F350 is 30% smaller than competing solutions.

Based on the industry's fastest 8051 CPU, the C8051F350 delivers up to 50MIPS throughput with a 50MHz clock.

The combination of high-precision analogue data conversion, high-speed data processing, in-system programmability and small size makes the C8051F350 the ideal choice for precision measurement applications, such as weigh scales, process control and smart sensors.

"The C8051F350 clearly demonstrates the unique analogue-intensive, mixed-signal expertise that Silicon Laboratories brings to the MCU market", said Derrell Coker, General Manager of Silicon Laboratories' MCU products.

"Our solution offers system designers unprecedented levels of integration, performance and flexibility".

The ADC has programmable analogue data conversion rates up to 1000 conversions per second and is complemented by dual 8bit sensor-excitation DACs and an onboard temperature sensor.

The C8051F350 has 17 flexible digital I/O pins that are 5V compatible.

Onboard serial communication peripherals include UART, SPI and SMBus serial ports.

The new MCU also incorporates a precision internal oscillator eliminating the need for an external crystal or resonator.

As with all of Silicon Laboratories' MCU products, the C8051F350 features in-system debugging that eliminates the need for an emulator.

It is supported with a complete, low-cost professional development kit that includes everything required to immediately begin the system design: IDE, target board, cables and power supply.

Silicon Laboratories offers the C8051F350 packaged in a 32-pin LQFP or a 28-pin MLP.

Pricing begins at $4.38 in quantities of 10,000.

The C8051F350 development kit is available now for $129.
