New method cuts WDM system failures

The quasi-instantaneous spectral tilt due to SRS for which active components cannot yet compensate necessitates the new evaluation of existing control schemes.
Though today's most widely applied gain control fails to suppress SRS power excursions, its performance may be greatly improved in combination with the proposed novel tilt filter.
