Solder pots deal with lead-free dross
New solder pots automatically create a dross-free zone for fast, reliable and efficient soldering with lead-free solders.
Ultrasonic irons can solder the unsolderable
Ultrasonic soldering irons are engineered to allow fluxless soldering, creating a more environmentally friendly working atmosphere and helping compliance with lead-free solder legislation.
It weighs in at a mere 9kg and is extremely easy to site.
One of its big appeals is that of portability, achieved by using carbon filtration, allowing it to be moved from workstation to workstation, ideal for small business owners.
A feature of the unit is an adjustable hood that offers total facial protection and in the raised position the integral light creates localised lighting to aid in productivity.
A recent survey revealed that on average an operator who does not have fume extraction for solder parts takes some seven days more sick leave each year, is 15% less productive whilst at work and more likely to leave due to the working environment.
Obviously when dealing with larger, automated and semi-automated welding processes there needs to be a fume extraction system to comply with health and safety standards but when it comes to small, low-volume soldering operations the need to protect the operator may seem somewhat less obvious.
This is not the case according Robert Whyte, Sales Director of Solbraze: "As a leading supplier of many different soldering systems, from irons, solder pots to semi-automated machines, we are aware that solder-based products gives off harmful fumes however minute".
"Hence we have taken positive steps to ensure that we can supply complementary fume extraction units fit for purpose and the new table-top extractor should be our best seller".
