This half price entry offer to the EEDS 2005 full day conferences and associated tabletop exhibitions is just one of many benefits available to members of the SCA.
The SCA also prepares accurate and up to date information on all product compliance issues for members.
For example, it makes information on the worldwide regulatory compliance scene and current and future Directives accessible on the members-only website.
In addition to this, the SCA provides details on events that can help companies, whose products have an electrical or electronics content, to demystify the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive, for example, as well as other pieces of legislation, directives and recommendations.
Associates can also attend regular half-day meetings, which are presented by experts in each field, and ask questions or raise individual problems on any related subject.
Details of other events that are free for members, such as the UK and Republic of Ireland IEEE EMC Chapter meetings, are listed on the members-only website.
A monthly e-newsletter, which focuses on current news, events and related information on compliance issues, is also included.
Current and future European Directives that affect the electrical and electronic industries will be the theme of all the EEDS 2005 shows.
These include the already mentioned WEEE, EMC (electromagnetic compatibility), LVD (Low Voltage Directive), EuP (Energy Using Products) design guidelines, RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances), and GPSD (the General Product Safety Directive).
The conferences will address the needs of designers, manufacturers, importers, exporters, retailers and third party maintenance and service suppliers whose products have an electrical or electronic content.
