Softjin has announced today that Vinod Malhotra has joined the company as VP of Engineering and has responsibility for the company's RandD team

Softjin, a customised EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tool development company, announced today that Vinod Malhotra has joined the company as VP of Engineering and has responsibility for the company's RandD team focused on developing Post-Layout EDA tools and technologies.

"We are very happy to have Vinod join our executive team," said Nachiket Urdhwareshe, Softjin CEO.

"He brings a wealth of experience in EDA product development across multiple domains and is ideally suited to lead our engineering team in the Post-Layout EDA area".

"His EDA industry experience, technical leadership skills and large team management expertise will serve us well as we embark on our next phase of growth".

Malhotra was previously VP of Engineering at Poseidon Design Systems.

Prior to that, he worked as Director of RandD at Synopsys where he was responsible for interactive lithography simulation, visualization and analysis.

He also managed engineering operations of over 50 developers working on various DFM products.

Prior to its acquisition by Synopsys, he led the EDA tools group at Numerical Technologies as VP of Engineering, where he established and grew the EDA tools division to a $10 million product line.

Malhotra holds a Master of Engineering from the University of South Carolina (Columbia) and a Master of Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) (Delhi).
