A five-point protection module which safeguards European telecomms network lines from overvoltage, overcurrent, lightning and electrostatic discharge is on its way to Solid State Supplies.

A five-point protection module designed to safeguard European telecomms network lines from overvoltage, overcurrent, lightning and electrostatic discharge is on its way to Solid State Supplies in the UK Teccor's T1 Euro Module, according to Richard Bethell, Franchise Manager at Teccor's UK agent, "eliminates the electrical threats that can destroy the infrastructure network or degrade its performance

The module allows the network to operate at its maximum speed and bandwidth with no signal degradation".

Using integrated semiconductor technology for self-resetting protection, the modules are transparent to the telephone network until needed.

In addition to reducing network faults and service calls, the module is supported by a six year warranty.

The T1 single leg plug-in protector is available in breakdown voltages from 35 to 250V and overcurrent ratings from 150mA to 1.2A.

Compatible with the European telecom standard Main Distribution Frames, as well as with all ADSL/DSL systems, its optimum performance occurs between -40 and +65C.

"Compared with conventional protection technology, which uses gas discharge tubes, plain solid-state or hybrid technology, the Euro Module provides 40% faster reaction times and resets repeatedly for uninterrupted protection", says Bethell.
