The new Alternistor Quadrac series from Solid State Supplies is the ideal alternative to the costly and time-consuming option of buying a discrete diac to assemble in conjunction with a gated triac.

The new Alternistor Quadrac series from Solid State Supplies is the ideal alternative to the costly and time-consuming option of buying a discrete diac to assemble in conjunction with a gated triac Comprising a triac and a 33-43V diac trigger mounted inside the same package, the Quadrac device eliminates the need for snubber networks

"The primary purpose of the Alternistor Quadrac series is for AC switching and phase control of highly inductive applications where noise immunity is required", said Matthew Cook at SSS.

"This product offers our customers a cost-effective and time-saving solution".

A bidirectional AC switch, the device is gate-controlled for either polarity of main terminal voltage.

The Thermotab package is UL recognized and electrically isolated to 2.5kV RMS from the leads to mounting surface (with a 4kV rating available on special order).

No external isolation is required, eliminating the need for separate insulators and insulator-mounting steps.

All junctions are glass-passivated to ensure long-term reliability and parametric stability.

Custom designs are available.
