Inverter modules show displays in a
better light
LCD backlights and TFT and STN panels up to 18.1in will benefit from the new LXM range of DirectDrive CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) inverter modules from Solid State Supplies.
LCD backlights and TFT and STN panels up to 18.1in will benefit from the new LXM range of DirectDrive CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent lamp) inverter modules from Solid State Supplies Both the LXM1617 single lamp output and and the LXM1623 dual lamp modules give the designer the opportunity to apply a very high level of brightness in TFT displays with flicker-free "burst" mode brightness control for any wide (typically 50:1+) dimming range

The FM24C04 4Kbit FRAM serial memory from Solid State Supplies is ideal for nonvolatile memory applications which require frequent or rapid writing.
The LXM1618 single lamp output and LXM1624 dual lamp modules do not provide wide range "burst" dimming, but instead they dim by amplitude control of the output current waveform.
This limits the potential dim range to typically less than 5:1.
This makes them ideal for use with lower cost STN panels and in situations where limited or even no dimming is required.
The entire LXM range uses the PanelMatch feature which extends and simplifies the matching of the components to the corresponding LCD panel specifications and the inclusion of a new backlight controller can eliminate the the use of up to 30 components from previous inverter designs.
The range is available in three different power ratings of 2.2, 4 and 6W and three different input voltages - 3.3, 5 and 12V - to simplify system integration.
With output short circuit protection and timeout, the devices also benefit from a stable fixed frequency operation, secondary strike voltage regulation, a temperature rating of -20 to +70C and a choice of three output connector styles.
