Laser wire stripper answers mil/aero
demands
Novel rotary beam delivery system ensures a cleaner cut all around the circumference of the cable, as opposed to just along the top and the bottom as in previous machines.
The Sienna 500 series is the latest laser wire stripping system from Spectrum Technologies This new addition to the Sienna family of laser stripping systems comes in 10 and 30W versions, and was designed with a number of new features for use in aerospace electronics

With a high demand for safety and efficiency, mechanical and chemical stripping methods are no longer acceptable in aerospace and military electronics markets, leaving a gap for this niche product.
The Sienna 500 series employs a patented rotary laser beam delivery system, making it especially suitable for processing larger-diameter wire and cable, particularly those used in aerospace, LRS and military electronics.
The rotary beam delivery system ensures a cleaner cut all around the circumference of the cable, as opposed to just along the top and the bottom as in previous machines.
Consequently this means the machine can be used for larger gauge wires and cables facilitating removal of insulation.
The Sienna 500 series comes in two versions: the Sienna 510 with a 10W laser, suitable for most wire and cable types; and the Sienna 530 using a 30W laser, for wires and cables with thicker or tougher insulation types.
The systems come with a rotational wire guide, dictated by the size of the wires or cables the customer wishes to strip, which is used to hold the wires or cables in place during the stripping process.
The Sienna 500 series also has a longer process length compared with previous models, enabling it to strip the insulation up to 200mm from the wire or cable end.
Spectrum reckons the Sienna 500 will provide a perfect answer to many difficult stripping requirements, not only within the aerospace industry, but also opening the door to other industries where stripping large cables with tough insulation is a problem, such as defence electronics, locomotive and rolling stock and automotive.
