DSP-based vocoders use low MIPS and little memory
Moscow-based DSP specialist Spirit has announced the launch of a series of optimised proprietary vocoder solutions in the form of high-quality speech compression algorithms.
Full duplex acoustic echo canceller runs on DSP
Russian DSP software company Spirit has announced the release of highly optimised full duplex acoustic echo canceller (AEC) compliant to ITU-T G.167.
To date, the only solution has been to use a handset, but now Spirit RealDuplex is claimed to make voice communication via PC/notebook speakers and microphone easily possible - even in noisy environments.
Spirit RealDuplex is based on advanced acoustic echo cancellation and noise cancellation technologies.
It filters out all noise and echo effects and enables distortion-free full-duplex voice communication.
Regardless of how many people are speaking at the same time, RealDuplex-powered conferencing never degrades into a mess of random syllables and sounds.
To maintain the best voice quality possible, the system automatically switches to half-duplex mode when noise exceeds tolerable level, and reverts to full duplex as soon as noise drops back.
Advanced AEC integrated in RealDuplex provides up to 60ms echo rejection allowing natural, full-duplex speech quality and relieving the speaker from headphones and wires.
The advanced noise cancellation makes Spirit RealDuplex perfect for mobile remote conferencing from any environment.
Even when many different noises are mixed with user's voice, such as car engine noise, other people speaking, laptop cooler and hard-disk rumble, surrounding noises etc, RealDuplex ensures highly intelligible and easy-to-understand speech quality.
Spirit RealDuplex can be also used in interactive online PC games for comfortable communication between players without echo effects and breaks.
"Spirit RealDuplex makes VoIP conferencing more effective as there's no need to repeat the same phrase several times to be heard".
"Now you are free to talk to people anywhere, no word would be missed or disrupted", says Andrew Sviridenko, founding CEO of Spirit.
