Spirit has released a universal multifrequency tone detector (UMTD) and generator (UMTG) for the TI TMS320C54x platform.
Client-side telephony chip simplifies integration
A new CST (client-side telephony) chip from Spirit is designed to solve the problems encountered when implementing speech compression, datacommunication and telephony functionality into new devices.

Spirit also enables service providers and operators to run VoIP services on mass-market mobile handsets (even on a low-frequency-processor like ARM 168MHz).
This increases the potential target mobile VoIP subscriber audience by a factor of 3-4x and grows the ARPU from VoIP subscribers by allowing longer talk time.
TeamSpirit Mobile also can be enhanced with SPIRIT optimised H.263 and H.264 video codecs.
TeamSpirit Mobile has been already deployed in mobile products recently launched by HTC, Compal, MediaRing, and others.
