Multimedia accelerator for mobile-phone OEMs has integrated voice-processing technology

Spirit DSP, a provider of embedded voice, video and audio engines, has announced that Core Logic, a global leader in mobile multimedia system-on-a-chip (SoC) products, has integrated Spirit voice-processing technology into its Multimedia Application Processor (MAP) targeted for mobile phone OEMs.

The Core Logic MAP is an ARM-based dedicated multimedia accelerator for multimedia-enabled mobile handsets.

The MAP is already deployed by major Asia-based phone manufacturers.
