India is fifth in sequence of centre openings

Sequence Design has opened a new "centre of excellence" in New Delhi.

Sequence Design has opened a new "centre of excellence" in New Delhi.

The new centre - the company's fifth- will provide R and D and marketing resources for Sequence worldwide, as well as post-sales support for customers in India and nearby regions.

Sequence plans to invest as much as $2 million over the next 12 months in its India operations.

Sequence India will initially employ 30 engineers, with plans to double that number by 2005.

Current customers in India include Motorola, Texas Instruments, ST and Cisco.

Other Sequence centres of excellence are located in: Acton, Massachusetts; Austin, Texas; Santa Clara, California; and Tokyo, Japan.

Sequence India General Manager, Krishna Kumar, held senior positions with Mentor Graphics, IBM, CrossCheck and DRDO prior to joining the company.

He has been in the industry for more than 15 years, developing high-end EDA tools in the areas of formal verification and board design, among others.

He became General Manager of Sequence India in August 2003.

Sequence Design is currently represented in India by its distributor BlueChips Technology.

BlueChips will continue to act as a representative for sales activity in the region.
