The Zeon StrongARM computer board is optimised for embedded industrial and automotive applications.

Designed by Sweden-based Strategic Test, the Zeon is a compact Eurocard size (160 x 100mm) board that has been designed for embedded and telematics applications that require a high processing performance, low power consumption and a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +85C.

Unlike most COTS embedded SBCs, the Zeon contains a wide-range onboard 8 to 36V DC power supply with reverse voltage and transient surge protection - making it suitable for automotive (car and truck) and industrial applications alike.

Other key features include: a 206MHz Intel SA-1110 processor; 32Mbyte Flash memory; 64Mbyte SDRAM; 10/100BaseT Ethernet; two USB interfaces; four RS232 ports; two serial ports (typically used to connect cellular modems); two RS485 ports for connecting distributed data acquisition devices and a LCD interface.

On request, Strategic Test can supply the Zeon with a suitable GSM, GPRS or CDMA 2000 1xRTT cellular modem that can be configured to wake up the system by remote request to extend the potential battery life - an important feature for automotive telematic and environmental monitoring applications The Zeon is supplied with either Windows CE or Linux.

Complete development kits with 8in touchscreen LCD display and mains power adapter are available.

Strategic Test also provides design and manufacturing services for turnkey StrongARM-based projects.
