Kit cuts the cost of PXA270 development

Development kit is reduced in price and includes Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 and CE 5.0, plus Linux 2.6.20 at no extra cost.

Strategic Test has cut US $1000 from the price of its PXA270-based Triton Development Kit-3, which now also includes Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 and CE 5.0, plus Linux 2.6.20 at no extra cost.

The Development Kit-3 also comes with 24 months of free technical support, software updates, and hardware warranty.

The Development Kit-3 was released in October 2004 as the first PXA270 reference platform to be supplied with both Linux and Windows CE 5.

Regular updates to the Linux and Windows CE BSP have been published and supplied as free updates.

The Kit-3 is a complete development solution that includes: a 6 x 4in carrier board; the Triton-270 520MHz PXA270 SODIMM module (with 64Mbyte SDRAM and 32Mbyte Flash memory) preloaded with Linux or WinCE; a software CD with operating systems and tools; a comprehensive manual that contains the carrier board schematics; all cables and a 220/110V AC power supply adapter; and 24 months technical support with free software updates.

The carrier board includes: a socket for the Triton-270 SODIMM; IDE headers for all Triton-270 signals; a UCB1400 codec and touchscreen controller; CompactFlash and SD/MMC sockets; 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet; USB 1.1; three RS232s and a JTAG interface; LCD and VGA connectors; and a wide-range 8-40V DC power supply that is protected against in-vehicle transients.

From 1st August 2007 the price of the Triton Development Kit-3 is US $3250 and is available from stock.

Triton-270 SOM are available with both 520 and 312MHz processors with up to 128Mbyte SDRAM and 64Mbyte Flash.

Prices of SOMs start at $114 for 1000-off.
