Johnson steps up to board appointment
Dr Robin Johnson has agreed to join the board of STS as Chief Operating Officer.
Surface Technology Systems (STS), a leader in plasma process technologies required in the manufacturing and packaging of MEMS and advanced electronic devices, has announced that Dr Robin Johnson has agreed to join the board of STS as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with immediate effect Johnson joined STS in July 2006 as interim COO to lead the manufacturing improvement process and his appointment, with responsibility for all the manufacturing operations at STS, provides the company with a strengthened capability

Richard Rees, the Company Secretary, has been promoted to Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
Rees joined the company in August 2005 as Group Financial Controller and has made a significant contribution since his appointment.
In the USA, Andrew Tucker, currently Vice President of Sales at ST Systems (USA), has been promoted to General Manager of the company's US subsidiary.
Tucker, who joined STS' US Sales team in 2000, has a wealth of experience in both STS products and the US marketplace.
Andrew Chambers, Customer Support Director, has tendered his resignation effective 31st December 2006 and will leave the company during January 2007.
He leaves STS to return to a career in technology development and the board thanks him for the contribution he has made to the company and wishes him well in his new appointment.
These board and other senior management changes will continue the process of strengthening STS and enable the company to meet market demands.
