Toshiba opts for simulation analysis solution
Toshiba Corp has adopted the FineSim hybrid simulation analysis solution into its design flow.
Since its introduction, SRS WOW has shipped worldwide in tens of millions of consumer electronics products, such as flat panel TVs from Sony, LG and Samsung, portable media players from iRiver and MobiBlue and PCs and monitors from Toshiba and BenQ.
In addition, SRS WOW has been a standard audio enhancement feature in every Windows Media Player since the release of version 7 in 2000.
SRS WOW improves the dynamic audio performance of compressed and uncompressed mono and stereo audio by expanding the size of the audio image and creating deep, rich bass response.
The patented techniques in SRS WOW widen the horizontal sound field and raise the vertical sound image, retrieving information lost in the production and distribution process to create a more natural audio experience.
SRS WOW also maximises perceived bass response using harmonic filters and psychoacoustics to go beyond the low-frequency limitations of speakers and headphones.
The combination enables manufacturers of consumer products with physical space restraints, such as televisions, mobile phones and digital audio players, to leverage cost-effective components for a high-quality consumer experience.
Since its introduction, the SRS WOW family of technologies has grown to include SRS WOW XT, which provides extreme width to audio played through closely spaced speakers drivers, such as those found in mobile phones, and SRS WOW HD, which adds realistic clarity to high frequencies as well as a centre control feature for dynamic extraction and positioning of dialogue.
