The Spectrum Electronics Group has established a new business, called Silicon Design, to spearhead IntellaSys' penetration of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) markets Based in the United Kingdom, Silicon Design officially partnered with IntellaSys on 1st January 2007

According to Nigel Watts, Managing Director, Spectrum Electronics Group, Silicon Design was specifically founded to address the particular sales, marketing and operational requirements of emerging companies such as IntellaSys: "The Seaforth, Indigita and OnSpec ranges of high-performance, low-cost processors and controllers need to be supported by a very particular portfolio of commercial and technical value added services".

"As can be judged from the slogan 'From the seed to the harvest' Silicon Design is structured to provide them all".

Watts pointed out that Silicon Design is able to exploit the customer and market IP that the Spectrum Group has amassed over its 14-year history: "We're hitting the ground running on behalf of IntellaSys in Tier 1 customers in the consumer, cockpit automotive, wireless and security arenas", he says.

Announcing the appointment of Silicon Design, Greg Peel, IntellaSys VP of International Sales says that Watts and his team are no strangers to IntellaSys: "CEO Chet Brown and I have been in touch with the Spectrum Group in our various roles for circa 10 years and I have engaged their services in the past".

He expressed his continuing confidence in the Spectrum ISMO model and in the abilities of the fledgling Silicon Design team: "I am sure that the Silicon Design personnel will work well as an extension of our own sales team and that they will be best placed to provide the informed technical feedback from our customers that will help shape new designs".
