Ward in the hotseat

The new Managing Director of St Cross Electronics, the Southampton based cable assembly manufacturer, is trying to stay ahead of the competition on more than one front.
Dax Ward has taken over from founder and former Managing Director Patrick Kiely, who has vacated that position to move to Chairman.
Ward is also driving the company sponsored racing car in the British Formula Jedi motor championship.
Formula Jedi is an annual competition for one-make single-seater cars competing over 12 rounds that are raced all over the UK.
Each car is powered by a 600cm3 Honda motorbike engine and is capable of reaching speeds of 217km/h.
Ward has been competing in this championship for just over two years with the support of St Cross Electronics.
The team finished in a highly creditable eighth position last year and this season has only narrowly missed out on several podium finishes.
In 2005 the championship venues will be extended to include Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.
Another element of the restructuring of the management organisation at St Cross was the appointment of Adrian Jukes as Production Director.
Formed in 1983, St Cross Electronics supplies a range of jumpers, cables and connectors and manufactures cable harness assemblies offering customers a total, highly cost effective interconnect solution.
