Drive enclosure supports faster SCSI interface
A new version of the InfoStation 12-bay drive enclosure for Serial ATA (SATA) or Parallel ATA (PATA) drives supports SCSI Ultra320 system interfaces.
"According to Intel test engineers, cluster testing with the InfoStation went very smoothly and with no issues at all arising with respect to the enclosure", reported StorCase Director of Engineering, Joel Tang.
Designed with special features specifically targeted to support clustering applications while also assuring "disk drive integrity" through proper thermal management and minimising rotational vibration, StorCase dubs the InfoStation 3U 14-bay enclosure the "safest place for your data".
The unique cluster allows a failed server to be easily hot-swapped and rebooted without bringing down the entire system.
This means that the InfoStation is highly available at a very low cost.
