A leading independent provider of semiconductor testing and assembly services, has been named Supplier of the Year by a memory specialist for its response to the client's wafer-sort requirements.
Flash memory specialist Spansion has announced that ChipMOS Technologies, a leading independent provider of semiconductor testing and assembly services, is Spansion's Supplier of the Year 2006 for its exceptional response to Spansion's growing wafer-sort requirements Spansion also named two companies, Solvay Chemicals and Kulicke and Soffa, as Best-in-Class suppliers for their collaborative spirit and technical support

Spansion presented the awards at a dinner on 17th April honouring the recipients.
2006 was the first year that Spansion combined its award process for wafer manufacturing and final manufacturing operations globally.
Spansion's World Class Supplier cross-site, cross-functional teams reviewed the suppliers, comparing them against their peers and choosing the best of the best to honour with awards.

In addition to the Supplier of the Year and Best-in-Class awards, 17 companies received Achievement awards for their work with Spansion, which established the awards program to drive leadership in technology, quality and logistics processes.

Solvay Chemicals was recognised as Best-in-Class for its "perfect" on-time delivery of fab materials and its attention to "impeccable quality" and reduction in total cost of ownership.
Solvay supplied wet chemicals to Spansion manufacturing sites.
