Swissbit is guaranteeing lead-free production of all SO-DIMM modules for industrial applications at its Berlin facility - effective immediately.

Consequently, Swissbit's components are RoHS-compliant long before they actually have to be.

The technical leadership role of the Swissbit SO-DIMMs is evident in yet another area: the volume production of the COB modules with minimum dimensions has now also begun for expanded temperature range industrial applications from -40 to +85C.

Given that guidelines similar to those making inroads in the EU are on the horizon in other markets as well, Swissbit finds its RoHS-compliance to be an additional strong sales argument, giving the company a global competitive edge.

Also, in addition to lead-free production, the SO-DIMM module series manufactured at Swissbit Group's Berlin facility offer a number of technical innovations.

On the one hand, Swissbit holds the world's only patent that allows the stacking of chips with centre pads and has a wealth of knowhow in chip-on-board manufacturing.

The company is thus in a position to attain embedded computing chip densities that clearly outperform conventional standards.

Swissbit uses an epoxy resin coating that additionally protects the chips from environmental impact and has a very low thermal resistance.

Consequently, any developing heat is reduced quickly and effectively.

Most recently Swissbit rolled out the volume production of industrial COB SO-DIMMs for the expanded temperature range of -40 to +85C and is now in a position to offer SO-DIMMs in large quantities.

Ultramodern measuring and testing systems ensure the sustained quality of the modules.

Thanks to the robust performance of the modules in this temperature spectrum, they can be used in even the toughest industrial and automation system conditions and are perfectly suitable for use under increased mechanical stress.

The components are 100% burn-in stress tested and are subsequently tested for their static as well as dynamic electrical attributes at different temperature levels.
