Shape-memory alloy forms tiny actuator
Nanomuscle actuators use the properties of shape-memory alloys to create tiny actuators that can be produced at a fraction of the size and cost of traditional electric motors.
The FESPA show is the largest international exhibition for screen printing, digital imaging, pad printing, and other associated processes, and was held last month in Madrid, Spain.
The two candidate items, a matrix with 2048 sensor cells and a very fine sensor with two small cells, persuaded the international jury of LuSense's expertise and efficiency in industrial screen printing.
The jury based their decision on the analysis of the quality, resolution, print surface, number of print layers, and smoothness of the screen-printed products.
LuSense is an independent business unit of IEE (International Electronics and Engineering), and is represented in the UK by Blyth, Northumberland based Steadlands.
