Driver drives LED efficiency
STMicroelectronics has introduced a new white LED driver with specific features for small LCD module backlight and high efficiency white LED power supply for portable applications.
Instituted in 1990, EDN's annual Innovation Awards honour outstanding electronic products and professionals, as selected by a peer jury of engineers and engineering managers worldwide.
ST's STR910F microcontrollers are based on the ARM9E processor core and also have Ethernet and memory options such as Flash and large SRAM built on -chip.
The innovative single-chip concept replaces what typically required several costly ICs, integrating high computational performance, digital signal processing, low power consumption, large embedded memories, and many system-tracking and monitoring tasks.
The STR910F chips make it economical for a wide range of products to be networked with a central system or other devices via wired or wireless Ethernet, ushering in a new generation of point-of-sale equipment, vending machines, patient monitors, industrial controls, building automation, security applications, and other industrial applications that are fully network accessible.
