1st Silicon (Malaysia) has joined RosettaNet Malaysia, the international consortium of high-technology companies dedicated to creating and implementing open e-business standards covering semiconductor manufacturing, electronic components, information technology and solution providers 1st Silicon is a founding member of RosettaNet Malaysia and is the first Malaysian wafer fab in the organisation

It will allow 1st Silicon to leverage the Internet to exchange business documents and information across the entire supply chain, on a global basis and in a timely manner.
"Our membership in RosettaNet not only expands our markets and customer support capabilities, it assures our customers that we are part of a common global framework for real-time information exchange.
By adopting and deploying this standard, we can improve our customer support efficiency and transcend the barriers of time and travel".
1st Silicon will immediately implement the RosettaNet specifications for providing work-in-progress (WIP) reports to customers.
In traditional WIP programs, customers log in to a company's website, enter a unique password, download the WIP and then upload it into their own system.
With RosettaNet standards, any new WIP status report information will be sent to the customer's system automatically.
