Versirak subrack system now meets P1101
SRS Products has recently upgraded its Versirak subrack system to provide a level of compatibility with the compact PCI mechanical requirements specified within the IEEE document P1101.
SRS Products plc has recently upgraded its Versirak subrack system to provide a level of compatibility with the compact PCI mechanical requirements specified within the IEEE document P1101.
Additions to the system are in keeping with SRS's original system concept of versatility and upgradeability.
Upgrade accessories introduced at this stage include an add-on front rail and a PCB guide rail.
When fitted to a standard Versirak subrack, the add-on front rail allows the injector/ejector feature from a compatible front panel unit to operate.
The add-on rail has been designed in such a way that the force exerted by the injector/ejector lever at the mid-point does not deflect the rail, ensuring correct lever function.
The new PCB guide rail will accept an electro-static discharge earth spring.
When fitted, the guide rail and the earth spring are bolted to the front rail, grounding the spring to the main subrack framework.
The earth spring can be fitted at the front, rear, top or bottom of the guide position, which allows an advance earth path through corresponding tracking on the plug-in PCB.
The new accessories bolt directly onto an existing Versirak subrack, making it easy for plug-ins from the latest standards to be utilised.
